PhD course in Scandinavian Philology has specialization in Literature (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish) or Linguistics (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish).
The course aims to train professionals or researchers to be able to:
- deal with Scandinavian languages, literature and culture on advanced level
- understand and analyse the newest results of Philological researches
- create research aims
- plan and organize researches
- cooperate in national and international researches.
Degree in Scandinavian Philology (MA) and a research plan for dissertation are requirements of application.
The course is planned to be a 3-yearterm. The course gives practical and theoretical knowledge to students. The training style is tutorial; professors teach students individually. The lectures give theoretical knowledge, the seminars aim to give students principle knowledge of university research and teaching.
At the end of the course, students take a comprehensive exam, which is followed by a protection of dissertation.
